Italian fare a hit with foodies
April 30--Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Pellegrino's Ristorante in Boca Raton. Formerly in Deerfield Beach, this Zagat-rated gem of a restaurant is owned and operated by Bobby Pellegrino (of Rao family fame). As I stepped on premise and proceeded past the opened decorative black gate, I entered the spacious patio, where the flat screen tv playing Visions of Italy immediately caught my eye. To accompany the visual, there was nice Italian ambient music playing in the background. |

Boca attorney creates national education program for middle schoolers
SouthFloridaSunrise.com Staff report May 2--Joel Rothman regularly speaks to middle schools on Law Day and Constitution Day about the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and our system of justice. In need of a story to engage kids and provide a context in which learning can flourish, he created a story based on his real life experiences as an A.D.A. in the Bronx. From his individual act of volunteerism, Rothman has created the beginnings of a national program - with participation by the American Bar Association - in civics education for middle schoolers. To take it to the next level, the details and samples of the project have now been posted as a project on kickstarter.com - the funding platform for creative projects that has had more than 20,000 creative projects successfully funded by people from around the world since it launched just two years ago.
